Loeskeobryum brevirostre (P.B.) Fl., Hookeria lucens (Hedw.) Sm. en Plagiochila asplenioides (L.) Dum. in de Noordoostpolder

In the Noordoostpolder, one of the large land reclamations in the former Zuiderzee (embanked in 1941) several interesting species were found, among which Loeskeobryum brevirostre, Hookeria lucens, and Plagiochila asplenioides, which are rare in the Netherlands. They all grew on ditch sides in a forest on pleistocene boulder clay. Phytogeographically the occurrence of these species links the boulder clay patches in this recently exposed area to the more hilly and much older districts in the eastern and southernmost part of the country.
