Zusammenfassung:Exceptionally well preserved color patterns are described in Platyceras deceptivum Barrande of Ludlow age (Late Silurian) and Merista herculaea (Barrande), in the Pragian Stage (Early Devonian) from the Barrandian area, central Bohemia, Czechoslovakia. Similar color patterns occurring on other fossil and Recent Mollusca and Brachiopoda are discussed.
