On Creating and Teaching: Talks with Hiram Williams

I visited Hiram Williams one afternoon last year when he outlined his theory of learning. In our conversation he talked about what is expected of artists: "Artists are expected to create. It is reckoned a life or death situation. I don't know why. Others aren't asked this, but the artist is asked to do things no one else has done before, to be a Miracle Worker."
