Bait preference in Irish small rodents

Wood Mice and Bank Voles were captured in two urban woodlands in Galway city using Longworth traps baited with one of three different baits. Wood Mice showed a preference for peanuts, while Bank Voles were more likely to be captured in traps baited with a commercial hamster pet food. Different bait preferences were also shown by male and female Wood Mice, with males more likely to choose peanuts.
