Zusammenfassung: | Veluticeps berkeleyi is a widely distributed wood-rotting fungus in North America. It is apparently present through much of the natural range of Pinus ponderosa in the western United States, and occurs on other pines in Central America and in Cuba. It causes a brown cubical heartrot in living trees and a saprot in down timber. Descriptions of the basidiocarps, cultural characters, and the associated rot are given. Veluticeps fusca is placed in synonymy with V. berkeleyi. |
