Recruitment of Underrepresented Student Groups: A Controlled Study

A medical school's four-year recruitment drive to increase applications from minorities, women, and nonscience majors was unsuccessful. This study evaluates the recruitment program and demonstrates both the importance of systematically evaluating such efforts and the inherent difficulties of changing an applicant pool.
