Informed by primary research, including interviews with women victims in Nepal and Lebanon, the chapter surveys experiences from thirty-one countries to identify how transitional justice initiatives can better respond to women’s needs and experiences related to enforced disappearances. The 2006 International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance identifies both the disappeared and their family members as victims of enforced disappearance.
