Zusammenfassung:The impact of immigrants in the United States has been the main subject of the debate on immigration policy. A subject less discussed in the United States is the impact that migration has on families and the economy of sending countries, such as Mexico. In this chapter, we summarize the evidence on these two topics. In particular, we discuss the impact that migration has on wages in both countries, on the fiscal burden in the United States, and on household decisions, such as educational investment in Mexico. Other issues that are addressed are the impact that immigration has on economic
