Zusammenfassung: | The year 2020 was marked by increased attention to the institutionalized racism that has been normalized in the United States. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Latinx and non-Latinx Blacks were the majority of the low-income frontline or essential workers keeping the economy afloat, but many were left unemployed (Brown, 2020; Gould & Shierholz, 2020; Lopez et al., 2020). Latinx and non-Latinx Blacks were also more likely to get sick, and they had the highest rates of hospitalization or death from COVID-19 (CDC, 2021).
