Zusammenfassung:1921—George Louis Kline is born in Galesburg, Illinois, on March 3, to Allen Sides Kline and Wahneta Burner Kline. 1938-41—Kline attends Boston University for three years, but then interrupts his education to enlist in the United States Army Air Corps. He becomes a lead navigator and bombardier in B-24s. 1943—Kline marries Virginia Harrington “Ginny” Hardy (born October 28, 1918) on April 17 in a simple civil ceremony where he is stationed in Texas. 1944—Between February and July, he flies a total of fifty combat missions out of Italy, for which he receives the Distinguished Flying Cross.
