Zusammenfassung:This chapter seeks to show, through an African feminist political economy perspective, why Thomas Sankara is ‘special’ as an African revolutionary thinker, military personality, advocate for freedoms – particularly women’s freedoms – and as the former leader of an African country, who actually implemented radical policies (although they were short lived) through which he mobilised the working people at large, and women in particular, towards a different vision of the future. As a Pan-Africanist, Thomas Sankara was a radical nationalist who passionately resisted imperialism and colonialism.
