After three hardworking but truly successful years abroad, Linnaeus was on his way home. Nothing much is known about that journey other than that he arrived in Helsingborg and traveled on to Falun, after a rest in Stenbrohult. Just as he had done before leaving for Holland, after coming home Linnaeus made a list of his planned publications: Species Plantarum in two volumes, Sponsalia plantarum, Philosophia Botanica, Flora Svecica, Ornithologia Svecana, Bibliotheca Botanica Aucta, Insecta Sveciae, Diaeta Naturalis, Ceres noverca, Iter Lapponicum, and Iter Dalecarlicum.¹ By now, the list had been slimmed down, and the titles had become well known
