Zusammenfassung: | First funded in 1979 by the National Endowment for the Humanities with a Youth Projects Grant, the Folkpatterns program works to support 4-H students “who are interested in learning more about themselves, their families, and their communities” (Kozma 1991, 2). Public folklorists designed the program to engage youth across the state of Michigan in cultural heritage educational activities related to personal and local place-based history and culture (Macdowell and Kozma 2007).
