The semantics of migrant in Australian English

According to the report entitled Trends in International Migrant Stock: The 2019 Revision (UNDESA 2019), Australia has one of the highest rates of foreign-born people as a percentage of its total population, far exceeding other English-speaking countries such as Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States.
