VOICES FROM THE HILL: HBCUs and the Graduate Student Experience

The 2015 special issue of cross the Disciplines titled “Graduate Writing Across the Disciplines” focuses specifically on the experiences of graduate student writing, acknowledging and building on the work that has been done in the area of writing resources for graduate students (Brooks-Gillies, Garcia, Kim, Manthey, and Smith). Other collections such as Cecile Badenhorst and Cally Guerin’s (2016) Research Literacies and Writing Pedagogies for Masters and Doctoral Writers and Steve Simpson, Nigel Caplan, Michelle Cox, and Talinn Phillips’s (2016) Supporting Graduate Student Writers: Research, Curriculum, and Program Design, in addition to broader conversations in the fields of TESOL and applied
