Zusammenfassung: | Kunara is situated in Iraqi Kurdistan, about 10 km south-west of the city of Sulaymaniyah. It was identified in 2011 by a survey, lead by Christine Kepinski between the Bazian Pass and the modern city of Arbat. Kunara is the largest site we surveyed, with a surface area of 7-10 ha. The upper town, to the west, is separated from the lower town, to the east, by a modern asphalt road. The site is located in a meander of the Tanjaro river, a perennial stream.
