Zusammenfassung:During the Cypro-Archaic period and especially in its earlier phases there is undoubtedly evidence for the influence of Egyptian iconography and symbolism on Cypriote Art. It is worth mentioning that this important cultural phenomenon existed in the island of Cyprus much before its conquest by pharaoh Amasis in 560 B.C. When one tries to examine, clarify and localize the pancyprian influence of Egyptian religion and symbolism, what immediately come to mind are certain finds from the royal tombs of Salamis. This important necropolis, excavated about 30 years ago, produced a number of objects with clear influence from the Egyptian religion
