A discussion on work-hardening and fatigue in metals - Some observations on the fatigue of silver chloride
Dislocation substructures which can be related to the slip patterns are developed during the fatigue of silver chloride at room temperature. The fatigue cracks travel entirely along the grain boundaries, presumably because dislocations can readily climb away from obstacles on the slip planes. There...

Zusammenfassung: | Dislocation substructures which can be related to the slip patterns are developed during the fatigue of silver chloride at room temperature. The fatigue cracks travel entirely along the grain boundaries, presumably because dislocations can readily climb away from obstacles on the slip planes. There are indications that this may also be the normal mode of fatigue failure in metals at temperatures high with respect to their melting points. |
