Zusammenfassung:Highly differentiable teratocarcinoma cells were adapted to growth in tissue culture. They retain their ability to differentiate when reinjected into host animals. A series of clones was established after three serial clonings. They could also differentiate in solid tumors, confirming the multipotentiality of single teratocarcinoma cells. Clonal populations have a heterogeneous morphology in monolayer culture. Differentiation in vitro was obtained by growth of small masses as floaters. Clonal aggregates produced neuroepithelium, keratinizing squamous epithelium, mesenchyme, and early embryonic epithelia.
