Zusammenfassung:This article attempts to illustrate the socio-economic, educational and language status of the Vietnamese in Birmingham, England through a door to door structured interview survey carried out in 1990 with 183 resident Vietnamese. The Socio-economic, educational and English language needs of this group will be linked to existing studies of the known mental health risks of Vietnamese refugees in the U.S.A. with an argument that indicates a need for central and local government preventative action.
