Zusammenfassung: | An analysis is made of a self-consistent system of equations for a laser allowing for the spatial inhomogeneity of the population inversion and for the nonlinear interaction of longitudinal oscillation modes in the active medium and in the element in which second harmonic generation occurs. Use is made of a theory of second harmonic generation in CW multimode lasers developed on this basis to analyze the spontaneous establishment of the frequency modulation of the output radiation of a YAG laser with mode self-locking and intracavity frequency doubling (Gusev et al., 1980). Spectral and time characteristics are presented for the fundamental frequency radiation and for the second harmonic emitted by the YAG laser. |
