Zusammenfassung:Ni-rich Li-ion batteries have gained a lot of attention in recent years due to their high energy density and low cost. However, these batteries also face some challenges such as poor cycle life, capacity fading, and safety concerns. One way to overcome these issues is by modifying the electrolyte composition through the addition of various additives. Electrolyte additives can affect various aspects of the battery's performance, including its capacity, cycle life, and safety. For example, the addition of certain electrolyte additives can increase the stability of the cathode material, leading to improved cycle life and capacity retention. Other additives can enhance the thermal stability of the battery, which is important for preventing thermal runaway and improving safety. One commonly used electrolyte additive is fluoroethylene carbonate (FEC), which has been shown to improve the cycle life of Ni-rich Li-ion batteries by forming a protective layer on the surface of the cathode material. Another additive, vinylene carbonate (VC), can improve the stability of the electrolyte interface and prevent the decomposition of the electrolyte at high voltages.
