Zusammenfassung:This article seeks to determine whether there are differences in persistence between students with and without scholarships and analyse the factors associated with the persistence of students with scholarships. The cohort of students with scholarships for access to the University of Barcelona in the academic year 2011-2012 were analysed. This cohort consisted of 2613 students, and is the last one that can be analysed to establish the persistence of students with incomerelated scholarships, as it was affected by the 2013 scholarship reform. Bivariate techniques showed that students with scholarships have greater persistence than students without scholarships. In addition, the binary logistic regression model indicated that the academic variables were the ones that contributed to explaining persistence, as they played a stronger role in students with scholarships. Ensuring equal educational opportunities thus remains a challenge for university policy.
