Zusammenfassung: | Vasomotor disturbances in the nasal mucosa are extremely common-so common, indeed, that they have long been considered, on the basis of experience from the largest outpatient departments of rhinology, to be present in roughly every fifth patient (Opheim, 9) seeking treatment for nasal symptoms. The most usual of them is undoubtedly the allergic form. In early stages, allergic rhinitis cannot always be differentiated from the other vasomotor types. In later stages, however, it is often associated with a smoth jelly-like polyposis, which is seldom found in the other vasomotor forms. With our increasing knowledge of the allergic diseases in general, more and more types of treatment have been tried. The same may be said of allergic rhinitis and, in particular, of the polyposis cases. |
