Zusammenfassung:The reactions of SO 2 with halocarbonyl anions of rhodium and iridium, [M(CO) 2 X 2 ]-(M=Rh, Ir; X=Cl, Br, I), were studied. Addition of neutral ligands, Ph 3 E (E = P, As, Sb) or pyridine, to the SO 2 treated halo carbonyl solution resulted in the formation of various complexes according to the nature of the precursor complex and the ligand. The obtained complexes are formulated as Rh(CO)(SO 2 )(Ph 3 As) 2 Cl, [Rh(py) 2 (SO 2 )Cl].2H 2 O, Rh(CO)(SO 2 XPh 3 P) 2 Br, Rh 2 (CO) 2 (SO 2 )(Ph 3 Sb) 2 Br 2 , Rh(py) 2 (SO 2 ) 2 I(C 2 H 5 OH), Rh(SO 2 ) 3 I(C 2 H 5 OH) and Rh 2 (CO) 2 (SO 2 ) 3 (Ph 3 Sb) 2 I 2 , Ir(SO 2 ) 2 Br(H 2 O) 2 , [Ir(SO 2 ) 4 (Ph 3 Sb)Br].6H 2 O, Ir(SO 2 )I(H 2+ O) 2 and [Ir(SO 2 ) 2 (Ph 3 As)I 3 ].4H 2 O. All complexes obtained have been characterized by physicochemical methods.
