Syntheses, Structure, UV-Visible and IR Spectral Studies of 1-Phenyl-3-methyl-4-acyl-pyrazolone-5 Complexes with Vanadium(V)

A series of 1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-acyl-pyrazolone-5 complexes with vanadium(V) have been synthesised and investigated for the first time. Characterization was by elemental analyses, u. v.-visible and IR (4000 - 200) cm −1 spectral studies. The V(V) complexes were shown to be neutral complexes of the general molecular formula VO 2 A HA, where A is the anion of the ligand. The u. v.-visible and IR spectral data with the approximate assignments are given and discussed.
