Dynamic recovery from strain-hardening in polycrystalline copper and aluminium

Zusammenfassung:The type of strain-hardening produced by a given strain was found to be independent of the temperature of deformation, up to 373°K for copper and 293°K for aluminium. The amount of strain-hardening varied with the temperature of deformation because of a recovery process which depended linearly on both the strain and the absolute temperature. The recovery appears to be associated with the formation of a sub-structure during deformation (Gay et al. 1954) and it is considered to be induced by the point-defects generated during plastic deformation.
