Zusammenfassung: | The ITER magnet system main elements are concisely described. The superconducting magnets of Russian tokamaks T-7, T-15 and Stand for Investigation of superconducting Magnet Systems (SIMS) are considered as the representative models of the ITER magnet system and the basie characteristics of their designs are presented. The failures and accidents of superconducting magnets that have taken place in these representatWe models are analyzed. The potential initial events that may cause accident situations in the ITER magnets are identified taking into consideration the experience gained under superconducting magnet operation at Russian experimental facilities. |
