The Last Campaign Against Corruption in Soviet Moscow

The writer uses police primary sources to investigate the campaign launched against corruption in the Moscow trade networks that was launched at the end of 1982 by the KGB and a special brigade. He argues that this campaign should be viewed as an operation aimed to amass as much information as possible in order to threaten the elite. He seeks to ascertain who led the investigations, whether they were willing and able to accomplish their mission, the identities of those who gave or accepted bribes, and what the outcomes of the investigations were.
