Zusammenfassung: | Waste papers such as preused writing and printing paper, and newsprint can be recycled in the form of board without deinking. The resulting board is not safety-grade because of the contents of the ink. Therefore deinking of waste papers is essential before making board. In this work deinking of these types of paper was affected by the use of certain percentages of local detergents followed by washing. The analysis of deinked papers showed a significant decrease of lead to reach less than 0.9 ppm, which is safe for use as boards in packaging [1]. The strength properties of the deinked board showed high values compared with those prepared without treatments. Addition of starch and sodium silicate to the deinked waste papers increased the mechanical properties of the board. |
