Zusammenfassung:Most of what is known about the conditions under which mood dependent memory (MDM) occurs, and the factors that enable its emergence, has come from cognitively oriented research involving experimentally engendered moods in normal Ss. By studying patients with rapid-cycling bipolar illness, explored the possibility of demonstrating MDM in people who experienced marked shifts in mood state as a consequence of a psychopathological condition. In this way, explored whether findings derived from cognitively oriented studies of MDM can be generalized to a clinically relevant context. (Original abstract-amended)
