Zusammenfassung:Self-organization is one of the central concerns of cybernetics. In 1937, 12 years before Norbert Wiener's first book, Jean Piaget published an extensive study of his model of the child as a self-organizing cognitive agent that constructs its own knowledge. In this paper, I shall survey some of the fundamental commonalities of Piaget's genetic epistemology and cybernetical thinking.
