Zusammenfassung:A series of Rh(III) complexes with optically active methyl-substituted trien derivatives were prepared using a modification of the general method for the synthesis of [Rh(trien)Cl2]X, where n = 2 or 3, and X = Cl − , C1O 4 − , or NO 3 − . The optically active ligands used were 2S,9S-Me2 trien and the diastereomers 2S,5R,9S- and 2S,5S,9S-Me3 trien, which have the general formula H2 N-CHR-CH2-NH-CHR′-CH2-NH-CH2-CHR-NH2, (R and R′ = H or CH3). The complexes were characterized and the geometrical isomers assigned using UV-Vis and nmr spectra. Assignments of absolute configuration of the complexes were made on the basis of ORD and CD spectra.
