The Efficient Synthesis of N4-Substituted 1-Methylcytosines
An improved procedure for the preparation of 4-chloro-1, 2-dihydro-1-methyl-2-oxopyrimidine is described. This compound appeared to be an excellent substrate for the synthesis of N 4 -substituted 1-methylcytosines.
