Furanolates 1. A General Preparation of Alkyl Furyl Carbonates

Trimethylsiloxyfuran reacts with methyllithium to give lithium fura-nolate and unreactive tetramethylsilane, the former reacts with alkyl chloroformates on oxygen to give alkyt furyl carbonates not previously easily prepared.
