Zusammenfassung: | A high-speed GaAs comparator with low power-consumption and a small area has been designed and simulated with a dynamic range of ±580mV. It is intended for applications in high-speed A/D conversion and artificial neural networks. It dissipates 3-1 mW for a single 2 V supply and has been simulated at 1 GHz. An analysis of the comparator to determine the effects of threshold deviations on the resolution was undertaken. The sizing of devices is chosen to minimize the susceptibility to threshold deviations while maintaining optimum performance. |
