Dielectric properties and electrical conductivity studies on Nd3Ga5O12 single crystals

Dielectric constant (C) and dielectric loss (tan 6) of garnet (Nd 3 Ga 5 O 12 ) crystal have been measured in the frequency range from 100 Hz and 100 KHz and in the temperature range from room temperature to 400°C. AC conductivity was calculated from the data on ε and tan δ. The room temperature dielectric constant measured at 10 6 Hz is 12.2. The DC conductivity as a function of temperature is also measured. The dielectric behaviour and the results on the conductivity measurements are discussed in the light of the existing data.
