Synthesis and mesomorphic properties of a new ferroelectric liquid crystal with 2-alkoxypropionate chiral groups

Two series of new chiral substances with 2-alkoxypropionate chiral groups have been synthetized. All compounds exhibit very wide ferroelectric SmC* phases with a high spontaneous polarization.
