Zusammenfassung:A Landau free energy model with two biquadratically coupled order parameters adequately describes the non-classical (β = 0.22) temperature evolution of the orientational long-range order in NaNO 3 , and explains the cross-over to quasi-tricritical (β = 0.25) behaviour below 460K and the observed tail of excess order above the critical temperature of the λ-transition.
