Zusammenfassung:Pb 5 Ge 3 O 11 is a new very promising ceramic pyroelectric material. We have set the conditions of synthesis and of the sintering process in such a way that the ceramics with partially oriented crystallites was formed with the properties approaching that of the good pyroelectric crystals. We shall present the measurements of the Pb 5 Ge 3 O 11 ceramic properties relevant to the pyroelectric detector as well as the relative detectivity of the built detector.
