Zusammenfassung:	A case of chondroblastic osteogenic sarcoma of the left atrium is presented. The malignant nature of the tumour was not revealed until surgery. It was considered to be nonresectable. At autopsy the tumour was found to be confined to the atrial septum. The possibility of preoperatively establishing the diagnosis and determining the extent of the tumour is discussed.
