Zusammenfassung:Assuming a neuropsychological hypothesis of connection of smoking motives with the inborn behavioral pre-program of the personality (including structures of the basic emotions, as well as structures reading, tuning, and attending their activity), the authors formulate 14 motives of smoking and try to prove them experimental-psychologically on 150 smokers by factor analysis. The analysis differentiates four factors or types of smoking: 1) Enjoying psychopharmacological effects of nicotine, 2) Intimacy seeking, 3) Provocative, and 4) Depressive.
