Initial Characterization of the Enzyme and Cloning of Genes Involved in the Enantioselective Epoxyalkane Degradation by Xanthobacter PY2

The epoxyalkane-degrading enzyme of Xanthobacter Py2 was studied in crude extracts. NAD and a low molecular weight fraction which can be replaced by DTT are necessary for the conversion of epoxyalkanes into ketones. The genes responsible for the epoxyalkane-degrading enzyme were cloned and expressed...

Zusammenfassung:The epoxyalkane-degrading enzyme of Xanthobacter Py2 was studied in crude extracts. NAD and a low molecular weight fraction which can be replaced by DTT are necessary for the conversion of epoxyalkanes into ketones. The genes responsible for the epoxyalkane-degrading enzyme were cloned and expressed in Xanthobacter autotrophics GJ10.
