Zusammenfassung: | Summary
Between 1975 to 1986, 43 patients with mixed malignant müllerian tumours were studied at the Alexandra University Hospital. Among these, 33 were homologous and 10 heterologous.
Treatment included appropriate combinations of surgery, radiotherapy and combination chemotherapy. Twenty per cent were recurrence free for 2 years and only 11 per cent survived more than 5 years.
Homologous tumours occurred more frequently than heterologous and were of better prognosis.
The incidence of mixed malignant müllerian tumours among malignant tumours of the uterine corpus was high in our study (5 per cent). Primary factors related to prognosis were the size of the uterus and the surgical stage when the patient presented; and the differentiation of the tumour. |
