Zusammenfassung:It is said that fungal infections in the area of otorhinolaryngology often occur in association with a decrease in the immune function and that indigenous fungi rarely exhibit pathogenicity in the infections. Among the patients examined at our department between October 1989 and March 1993, 67 fungal strains were detected in 45 cases. Treatment of diseases in the area of otorhinolaryngology should always recognize the presence of fungal infections.
