Zusammenfassung:	Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) evaluation can yield important information in behavioral, pharmacologic, and toxic assessment of the nervous system. Recently identified neurotransmitters are available and quantifiable in CSF. CSF collection in macaques is easy to perform and extremely safe for the monkeys. This paper outlines a simple, harmless, and reliable method to collect CSF from the atlanto-occipital cistern of macaques.
