Zusammenfassung:Summary Coliphage T7 was irradiated by atomic nuclei accelerated in the heavy ion linear accelerator at the University of California. Plaque-forming ability was measured after irradiation, using a number of different nuclei. The ultra-violet absorption of isolated phage DNA was measured in an analytical ultracentrifuge and was used to measure the proportion of double-and single strand breaks in the DNA.
