Zusammenfassung:Summary The amount of 5-hydroxytryptamine in the gut of rats had not changed significantly 2 and 6 hours after gamma-irradiation. Gamma-radiation significantly decreased the amount of 5-hydroxytryptamine in the intestine of the rats 12 hours after irradiation. The decrease in the 5-hydroxy-tryptamine content of the rat ileum caused by gamma-radiation could be completely prevented by pre-treatment with cysteamine.
