Zusammenfassung: | A three month old kid from a flock of six was submitted for necropsy examination with history of pyrexia, cough and diarrhea. The necropsy examination revealed the presence of pale consolidated patchy areas in the lungs. The diaphragmatic lobe of the left lung was adhered to the left lateral thoracic wall with shreds of fibrin. The histopathological examination revealed the presence of fibrinonecrotic pleuritis with the whole lung parenchyma completely infiltrated with inflammatory cells with predominance of giant cells. Areas of syncytia formation could also be noticed, in the bronchiolar epithelium as well as in the lining epithelium of intestine. Eosinophilic inclusion bodies could be visualized in the bronchiolar and intestinal epithelial cells involved in syncytia formation. |
