Zusammenfassung:During the acquisition of image data in X-ray CT scanner, the motion of patient degrades the image quality and can lead to erroneous diagnosis. The authors developed a technique to remove the artifacts due to head motion during brain CT scanning. The motion of head was modelled as rigid body motion. The authors simulated the CT data of a moving phantom and recorded the motion information. The motion information was used to correct the CT data (sinogram) before reconstructing the image from it. The images reconstructed from this corrected sinogram were free of motion artifacts. This technique is expected to work successfully for the brain CT scanning. The motion information can be collected by an infrared motion tracking system.
